With the long stretch of wet, windy… and in some areas snowy weather we’ve had, it’s time to see how hard your gutters had to work. Have you checked them lately?
Notice how the down-spout elbow is pulled apart? If you have any that look like this it’s time for repair.
Can you see the dirt and grime collected along the gutter edge and underneath?
If yours resemble this, it’s time for cleaning. And make sure to check the soffits as well. They might also need a little cleaning TLC.
Oh, if your gutter is missing its end-cap like this one is, it’s time to buy a replacement.
And if you have a system like this in place…
I would recommend maybe asking a professional if this is the best approach.
These are just a few examples of things to look for and think about with your gutters. And when you get into routine gutter cleaning and maintenance, you will prolong the life of your gutters because they won’t have to work so hard trying to do their job!
I strongly recommend you hire a professional to handle your gutter maintenance and repairs rather than tackle it yourself. Remember, SAFETY FIRST. It’s money well spent to engage a professional to do what they do best, rather than running the risk of being up on the roof, or at the top of the ladder yourself. Ultimately this will be money saved in the added value of caring for your home, but without the personal safety risks!
And just think what this will do for your curb appeal… each and every year, staying or selling!
It’s about coming home… If you want a remarkable space that tells your story, contact me to see how we can help!
