I Saw It… Almost Walked Away! La, la, LaVada!!
I saw it leaning against a bunch of other cast offs; all had seen better days, had been loved a whole lot more.Β I walked right by… but something pulled me back.
What’s a little rust and a few dents anyway?
Since I knew the shiny gold had to go, the rust was just a blemish. Nothing a little spray paint couldn’t fix!
This little table, even though I dulled her frame down, is anything but dull!
Authentic vintage – not a retro throwback just touting the vibe!
Would I hang this on my wall? Well, gee no I wouldn’t. But as a TV table, I love this signature LaVada piece.
A little BEFORE:
A little AFTER:
And a whole lot’a love!
What about those little wheels for feet? They might just be my favorite part!
Over at Audrey Would! we’re on our final countdown to the Vintage Expo in Victoria… if you’re in the area this Friday or Saturday, pop by our booth (#38 upstairs… same floor as the bar!), and see how this little table has been put to use!
Thanks for stopping by!

Reminds me of a piece my great grandmother had in her living room. So charming!
We grew up with TV tables, but not quite as colourful as this! Ours were plain old faux wood brown with gold – not as charming that’s for sure!! π
great project
Fun, right?! You know, you could be modernizing TV trays with your own art work – wouldn’t that be awesome!!
I just purchased a set of 4. Who was the artist La Vada?
I love it:)
Thank you!!! π
We used to have TV tables like that growing up. I want one!
Thanks so much for stopping by Mara! It’s funny – they come and they go, but if you find a set of 4 that’s pretty rare – good luck if you do go on a treasure hunt!! π
Gorgeous makeover! Yes – spraypaint is our friend right?? LOL!! Love the vintage scene on the tray!
Thank you so much, Heather! Spray paint is definitely our friend – I think sometimes our makeover targets want to duck and run! π
Sweet! I love that little makeover! It looks great Sheila! I’m going to come visit when you’re at the expo! See you then:)
Yay!!! I look forward to seeing you, and to introducing you to Angie, too! Can’t wait!! π
My grandmother (RIP), has these still (which of course are in my mom’s basement). We got such good use out of these:) Great little makeover Sheila and good luck at the Vintage Expo!
Wow Shelley, what a treasure. I’m so happy to hear your grandmother’s TV trays are still in the family circle – so many memories, right? And thank you for the good wishes on the fair – we’re super excited, have our fingers, toes and legs crossed – and right about now it feels like our eyes are crossed too!! π
OMG, does that thing ever bring back memories!!! As kids that’s all we ate off of sadly. I say sadly because we rarely sat at the kitchen table and talked. It was all about Swanson’s tv dinners on tv tables. Ah well, Audrey would too if she had this table π
Kitchy and cute! Love it. I was scrolling, anticipating that you were going to makeover the tray too but was so glad to see that you saw the beauty in the vintage scape. π
i love tv tables…i want some
I remember those tv tables! Yours looks great fixed up and ready to go out!
It really looks refreshed. I’m sure it would work in so many places. Great find!
