I’m with you Sheila. I often use rope in ‘my look’. The rope must look like I just brought it home from the beach. In our West Coast natural decor rope brings in great texture and mixed with a sparkling glass container creates a lovely contrast.

Last summer while on a boating holiday in the Alert Bay area my husband humored me by cutting an old piece of rope attached to a washed up fishing boat. I used it for awhile in a clear glass fish bowl.

Jan, your rope in a glass fish bowl sounds perfect! I agree with you that the rope must look like it’s been beach-combed… way more character to tell the story with! I can envision the rope you brought home, and better yet, love your story that goes with it :-)

  3. Wow! I never thought of it! It depends… I wouldn’t if I was a very depressed person.. get the idea? LOL I’m kidding! I actually like the way it looks. It’s very original, and if you ever get tired of it, you can put some water in the vase and throw a fish.. and voila! :-)

Ok.. I guess I had too much coffee today! lol
