This weekend my hubby’s parents came to visit us, and we had so much fun. Good food, good wine, great company!
And on the note of good wine, one of the fun things we did was stop in at Blue Grouse Estate Winery.
This was not a first visit for any of us… my father-in-law, Konrad likes the Müller Thurgau, and was after a case of their 2009! So making the trip became part of our itinerary, and it’s just so beautiful, so calm and peaceful out there that I wanted to share it with you.
This is the sign you see from the road as you enter the estate.
I love the metal hanger, especially the way it’s set in the thick lush green of the forest’s edge.
You know you’re in the right place when you are greeted by a site like this…
Rows and rows of grapes…
Plump and juicy like this.
There were green grapes too. Interestingly, the rows alternated between red and green grapes.
Love the gravel approach.
Curving and leading you through rows of grape vines to here.
Isn’t this pretty? It’s right on the edge of where we parked.
And then you pass by this little area that’s tucked away… almost like a secret garden.
But it’s really a private BBQ spot!
This is peeking in through the back to the private little oasis…
You know you’re headed the right way when you see this sign.
After all, a case of wine is what we came for
The others went on ahead while I stayed back to take in more of the grounds and views… and take more photographs, too!
It’s just so pretty everywhere you look.
I had to capture the planters placed around the grounds.
I love these old barrel planters… they are so on my wish list, but they’ll have to wait until next year.
As you step toward the grapevines, this is what you see! And this is just a taste…
Everything is so neat and tidy, and so welcoming.
More oak barrels greet you, but these ones aren’t for flowers…
These ones are the real wine making deal!
And this one is right outside the wine shop.
Can you see the chair inviting you to sit down and soak in these views?
You might not want to sit out here for too long though, because there’s tasting going on inside!
And inside you’ll find more barrels.
I like the simplicity of the displays.
And the live edge of the tasting bar.
We enjoyed the tasting… so much that we purchaed an Ortega, a Pinot Gris, and a Rosé And Konrad was lucky to get his case of Müller Thurgau. We learned that it’s running out fast!
It’s no wonder… check out the gallery of award winning wines!
We’ll definitely be back.
How about you? Have you been to the Blue Grouse Estate Winery?
Oh, look… more than grapes grow here!
Everywhere you turn there are little surprises…
Don’t you just love the vast curb appeal you find here?
Thanks for stopping by!
