2014 Victoria Vintage Expo: What A Blast!

The long awaited 2014 Victoria Vintage Expo has come and gone with a bang!

With vendor booths sold out and an eager crowd lining up at the doors, the Expo got started off in full swing. Vintage goodness was overflowing, and customers were ready to shop. The entertainment over this 2-day event was stellar, and the vintage attire donned by vendors and customers alike was way too much fun!

In a venue like this it’s hard to really capture the presentation of each booth, because visually there is just so much going on all around you. I promised to share pics of Audrey Would!’s little pop-up boutique and did my best to freeze-frame a few sparkly moments in spite of the visual goodness at every corner and turn.

This is my set-up, and honestly, I did iron the table cloths before-hand. Eegads!

If you play a little I-spy you might recognize some of the display props from previous posts… like my vintage suitcase, the crates made from pallets and the newest addition of the little retro table.

Here are some close-ups of the displays…

Barware and a few Svend Jensen spiro pieces.

A few of my favourite pieces that sold, the Ronson cigarette box, and some Coppercraft Guild coasters. More on Coppercraft Guild coming soon!

Ooo-la-la, the sparkle of gold and the Culver ‘Valencia’ ferris wheel cocktail caddy which has found its way to a new Los Angeles home!

Lots more barware, stemware, sparkle and charm with many of these pieces now settling into their new homes.

The silver pieces brought many questions about cleaning, and one kind lady shared that she used to clean silver many years ago with Polishing Wadding. I haven’t heard of that, have you? Do you know where it can be found??

The China Ritz set is another of my favourites, and it too, has found a new home. #Happy sigh.

Steak knives with Bakelite handles were also a conversation hit. A few gentlemen shared stories back and forth from when they remember using them ‘back when…’

I also promised to show you how the little retro table got integrated into the set-up. Here it is set on top of a lower row of tables. I did this to create an elevated surface allowing for more pieces to go on display.

And just for fun I decided to show you a few of the pieces in this section that sold. I think this little table was a stroke of good luck and meant to be!

For Audrey Would! this was a very successful event. It was so nice to see familiar faces from last year, and to meet new ones this year. I would like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth – your support is genuinely appreciated.

I look forward to bringing more vintage treasures to you soon, and don’t forget Audrey Would! online. If you don’t see what you are looking for, drop me an email – I might have it but it may not be listed yet, and if I don’t have what you are wishing for I’m happy to go searching!

I’ve been counting down to the 2014 Victoria Vintage Expo for months now, and I can’t believe it’s a mere 2 days away! Have you marked your calendar yet for this 2-day event?

All the boxes for Audrey Would!’s booth are packed and ready to go. I’m working away from home right now, but I’ll get back on Thursday with just enough time to load up the vehicle and be on my way.

This is a sneak peek at one of the door prizes you could have a chance to win if you join us on Friday night.

‘Propping’ for Victoria Vintage Expo: A RetroTable Makeover

If you’ve been following along then you will remember all the DIYing that went into ‘propping’ for Audrey Would!’s booth at last year’s Victoria Vintage Expo. If you missed all the frenzy, there was…

(1) A pine bookcase that got Hollywood Glammed!

Pine Cabinet B&A

(2) A piano bench that jumped on the glam safari, too!

(3) And a little side table that was given a redo.

This year Audrey will be back, top of the stairs again in Booth #38, and will have one more DIY prop to introduce.

I paid $7.00 for this little table and all its well-loved retro beauty…

You will find this refreshed piece at the Vintage Fair among Audrey’s booth mix. This year we have a few layout tweaks along with all the sparkle and glam of last year’s look. To see where this mod table fits why not drop by?

Have you marked the dates? September 26 and 27 at the Crystal Gardens in Victoria – see you there!

Audrey Is Attending! Will We See You There?

Yes, it’s that time again and Audrey Would! will be there!

This year’s Victoria Vintage Expo is taking place on Friday and Saturday, September 26-27 at the historic Crystal Gardens at 713 Douglas StreetFriday the doors open at 4:00 pm and are staying wide open for longer this year until 10:00 pm. Can we say, ‘excited much’?! On Saturday the doors open at 10:00 am and don’t close until 6:00 pm! Whew! I’m excited and I hope you are too! Will I see you there?

So, I bet you are wondering what Audrey will feature this year? Well, I can tell you it will be more of the same, but this year there is a greater focus on the Art Deco era and all the Gatsby-like entertainment ware and paraphernalia that goes with it! So that means barware, tabletop pieces, and pretty much anything that sparkles and is Gatsby cool!

Here is a little glimpse of some vintage ‘Downton Abbey’ activity-inspired barware, but don’t worry, there is more sparkle and glam coming, too!
